How do we prepare ourselves for a Powder Micro Pigmentation Session?
Because at the EL Beauty Centers we offer powder micro pigmentation services, we thought we should put together a guide with information that’s good to know before undergoing this cosmetic service.
- It is important that you make yourselves an image about what it actually means powder micro pigmentation.
We suggest that you read online from as many sources as possible to understand what is and how does the process undergo but also about the most frequent questions asked regarding this procedure.
- It is recommended that you’re prepared for some redness in the affected area.
It’s better to know from the start. Even though it happens quite rarely, redness and slight rash may appear in the affected area. The skin reacts differently so keep this thing in mind when you are making your timetable for the hours that follow the procedure.
- Use as little make-up as possible.
It is recommended that before the micro pigmentation session you use a light make-up. This does not mean you don’t have to use any make-up, just that you should try and avoid the affected areas, in this case the eyebrows.
- Careful with the medication.
There is certain medication that you should avoid for 48 hours before the procedure. Few examples would be: aspirin, ibuprofen or any other painkillers. Also we recommend you avoid medication that has a strong effect on the organism.
- Alcohol Consumption before the procedure.
It would be ideal if you didn’t consume any alcohol for 48 hours before the procedure. If you have consumed large quantities of alcohol a night before the operation though, we suggest you reschedule the session.
- Avoid products that contain RETIN A (TRETINOIN).
In case you utilise products that contain a significant amount of Retin A (tretinoin) we suggest you stop using these products a month before the procedure. This measure concerns the upper area of the face. It is also recommended that you avoid products that contain Vitamin A.
- Avoid “AHA” Skin Care Products.
This shall apply one week before the procedure. We suggest you avoid skin care products that contain alfa-hidroxi acid. Moreover, it would be advisable that you interrupt the use of anti-ageing products in the eyebrow area with two weeks before the session as well.
- Blood Donors
It is not recommended that you donate blood in the day of the appointment because the organism might feel weakened for such an intervention. Because the pigment can get into the blood, only after two days after the session you may donate blood in complete safety.
- Other intervention on the eyebrows.
For the best results, it is recommended that you do not pluck out the eyebrows for at least two weeks before the micro pigmentation session. Neither waxing is recommended during the week in question.
- Discuss with the specialist about your health status.
The micro pigmentation specialist must know general details about your health status. Allergies and chronic diseases are worth mentioning. Don’t forget to talk about the cosmetic substances that have negative effects on your skin.
Following these instructions, we are more than sure that you will have a positive experience following the powder micro pigmentation session!
